ON THE SECOND ORDER STATISTICS OF THE RATIO OF TWO FISHER-SNEDECOR RANDOM VARIABLES AND ITS APPLICATION TO INTERFERENCE LIMITED COMMUNICATIONS

The paper investigates the higher order statistics of the ratio of two Fisher-Snedecor F (FS-F) random variables (RVs) and its application to wireless communications in the presence of co-channel interference. Namely, the work provides novel expressions for probability density function (PDF), cumulative density function (CDF), level crossing rate (LCR) and average fade duration (AFD) of the ratio of two FS-F RVs. Numerical examples of the analytically derived statistical measures in terms of FS-F multi-path and shadowing parameters are shown and examined. Moreover, the impact of the number of interferes on the considered measures are further presented and examined.

SYSTEM PERFORMANCES OF SC RECEPTION IN ASYMMETRIC MULTIPATH FADING ENVIRONMENTS

The paper takes into consideration dual-branch selection combining (SC) diversity reception technique in the presence of dissimilar fading at their branches. We efficiently obtained first and second order closed form statistics at the output of the considered model such as probability density function (PDF), cumulative distribution function (CDF) and average level crossing rate (aLCR). Moreover, obtained results are numerically presented for various sets of system model parameters and mainly confirmed by computer based MATLAB simulations.

THE LCR OF WIRELESS MACRODIVERSITY SSC RECEIVER IN THE PRESENCE OF GAMMA SHADOWED KAPPA-MU FADING

Wireless mobile macrodiversity (MaD) radio system with switch and stay (SSC) receiver and two microdiversity (MiD) selection combining (SC) branches operating over Gamma shadowed Kappa-Mu (k-µ) multipath fading environment is considered. Novel, one-folded integral expression for average level crossing rate (LCR) of MaD SSC receiver output signal envelope is obtained. Numerical results of the proposed model are presented and discussed in relation to the system model parameters.

ON THE AVAILABILITY VERSUS TRANSMITTED POWER OF WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS IN RAYLEIGH MULTIPATH FADING ENVIRONMENTS

This paper presents simulation results for full availability of a wireless sensor network depending on the RF outputpower of the network nodes in Rayleigh multipath fading environment. Outage probability, relating to the situationin which any one of the sensors is unavailable, is computed by means of numerical simulation, and discussed. Theresults indicate that the trade-of between the outage probability and the energy eciency of the network nodes shouldbe sought, resulting in lowest required output power for the highest tolerable outage threshold.
